Floating Shelf FAQ
How much weight can your floating shelves hold? +
Our floating shelves are engineered with internal steel support anchored into wall studs — not hollow-wall anchors. Load capacity depends on stud spacing and shelf depth, but most of our shelves comfortably hold 50–100+ lbs depending on the build spec. We'll size the support system to what you plan to put on them.
Can you match my existing shelves or millwork? +
Yes. Bring us a sample or photo and we'll match the species, profile, and finish. If we built other millwork in your home, we have the spec on file.
Do floating shelves work on drywall? +
Yes — but properly. We anchor into wall studs, not just drywall. If your stud layout doesn't cooperate with your preferred shelf position, we'll engineer around it.
What's the minimum shelf depth you build? +
We build shelves as shallow as 4" for display ledges up to 18"+ for deep storage shelving. Most living room and kitchen display shelves run 8"–12" deep.
